Sentinel groups related investigations within outbreak records. An outbreak can contain linked cases, a lead investigator, team members, case definitions and a timeline of investigation activity.
Parent–child outbreak relationships allow a wider investigation to contain sub-investigations. Cases can be associated with more than one outbreak where the investigation requires overlapping groupings.
Contact-tracing functions include:
- Recording relationships between cases and contacts.
- Importing contacts in bulk from CSV files.
- Converting contacts to cases as an investigation develops.
- Viewing recorded relationships through the contact-tracing network view.
Outbreak records also provide context for interview allocation, tasks and saved investigation searches.
The relationship view displays links recorded in Sentinel. These links should be interpreted alongside the investigation evidence; they do not independently establish a transmission pathway.
