Data review and reconciliation

Review incoming values and recorded changes with their investigation context.

Sentinel provides review workflows for incoming information and changes requiring a human decision. Survey mappings, laboratory processing and disease-specific review settings determine which items enter a review queue.

Review items retain context such as the affected record, source of the change, triggering field and associated patient or case. Related changes can be grouped to support review.

Authorised users can:

  • Filter pending items by record type, disease, date and review status.
  • Inspect proposed or recorded changes alongside investigation context.
  • Confirm or dismiss an item with review notes.
  • Create and assign a follow-up task.

Review settings can apply to laboratory results, exposures, contacts, classification changes and other supported events.

Reviewing a recorded change and approving a staged value are different operations. Whether data has already been saved depends on the originating workflow and mapping configuration. The review queue should not be described as a universal rollback mechanism.
